This App Can Help Control Your Sex Life

It is no doubt that technology has taken over most aspects of our lives, and it is only bound to take up all aspects in the coming future. This holds true with proposals like IoT, which has already begun! Our sex lives is no different, with dating sites accounting for most “hookups”, and “smart” sex apparatus, touting themselves as helping us pleasure ourselves more.

Natural Cycles, as it is rightly called, wants to help you know when you are ovulating, so it help avoid conceiving or improve the chances of an offspring! This app is for the ladies, and it is to do with your monthly cycles. As long as you don’t mind measuring your temperature before getting out of bed each morning, Natural Cycles claims to give accurate results. In fact Germany’s Department of Health thinks it is so accurate that the app is now classified as a contraceptive. The first app of its kind!

The app costs £6.99 a month, plus you need to buy a thermometer  to measure your temperature every morning. If you want to know more about the science behind it, please click here.

Great ideas begat great innovation and we say this one is a great innovation! Kudos to its inventors and brains behind it.

Always Stay Connected With Hotel My Phone!

Have you ever been in a hurry to attend a meeting in time and forgot your phone at home, or your phone died out of battery when you are expecting an important call?

Another piece of application is here to make sure you don’t go without communication if this happens to you again. The new app is rightly called Hotel My Phone.

Hotel My Phone lets you borrow a friend's phone and use your number on it.
Hotel My Phone lets you borrow a friend’s phone and use your number on it.

It works by cloning your phone and letting you temporarily borrow a friend or someone’s phone with the same app to make calls and text with your own number. Once checked in to the borrowed phone, you can see your own contacts, and communicate with your contacts from the app on the borrowed phone. Once you check out of the app, your information is permanently erased and the app will let you know this too.

Hotel My Phone promises this on their website “Whether you forgot your phone or have a dead battery, it doesn’t matter! Have the added insurance of your spouse’s phone or your best friends’. Stay in contact with your closest friends, now that you are all on Hotel My Phone, you’ll never miss a message or call!”

This sounds all good, but you must know there are some charges to pay if you want to do some specific things like making a call, which depends on the location you are checked into. There are also costs for checking in to phones that are not on your network that you can build within the app.

Conclusion: Claiming to be the first phone sharing app, we at The Computer Potato think Hotel My Phone is an innovation that will be well received and will take off as more companies look into the idea and come up with better ways of making this great idea even more useful than it is right now.

New Battery Charges In 2 Minutes, Last 20 Years!

Computer Potatoe thrives in bringing you the latest innovation and technology and again we have got one that caught our eyes. A group of researchers -obviously- have managed to develop a Lithium battery that takes 2 minutes to charge and could last up to 20 years.

This is an exciting and great achievement as the current Lithium batteries can be charged and drained about 500 times and usually last about 2 years of continual use. This is the reason why after 2 years, your battery operated devices seem to last a little less after a full charge. The newly developed generation of batteries by scientists in Nanyang Technology University in Singapore could go 10,000 times and last 20 years.

As always, Computer Potato brings you the latest technology in its simplest form so we won’t be discussing the technical details. However, the materials inside the newly developed batteries are different and cheaper compared to the current generation of batteries. This could mean we will be seeing these batteries in the market soon.

Don’t get your hopes up too soon though, as this research is much more for batteries in electric vehicles than your smart phones. If history is to repeat itself – like it always does- mobile devices will be getting it a shortly after!

Reading On The Screen Without Your Glasses Is Slowly Becoming Reality!!!

Do you need glasses to read? Do you use tablets and phones? Is it annoying that you have to pick up your glasses each time to read your text messages or read your favourite book on your tablet? If you answered yes to the three questions, then soon you will not need to reach for your glasses to read your mobile devices. No, I am not going to heal your sight with these texts you are reading, neither will you need to go for laser surgery for this!

Your mobile devices will adjust to your eyes! Yeah, you read that correctly! Your tablet or phone will adjust to your eyes in the nearest future so that you would not need your glasses.

Some UC Berkeley researchers teamed up with other researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to develop their latest prototype of a vision-correcting display. Like always the Computer Potatoe is here to simply how it works for you!

How it works; it uses light and some other technologies to present the images on the screen to the reader following their glasses prescription.

A prototype has been built and will be presented to the world soon. This doesn’t mean it will be available on all devices in months. We can only be assured that this will be very useful to many people and it will get into the markets as soon as possible.

For: It will help any visually impaired reader to use their devices without glasses or squinting.

Against: This will mean that two people can share at the same time with the prescription on because to one person, it will look sharp but to the other it will look distorted.
